Just a month to go, tickets for World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold Madrid 22 on Wednesday, March 2 are on sale now to the public.
21 February 2020 was the last time public was allowed to attend the World Indoor Tour Madrid meeting. That day the stands of C.D.M. Gallur were packed. Yulimar Rojas asked the fans for clapping. Fixed the look on the sand… What happened next is history. The feeling of watching that 15.43m leap live on the stadium remains in every spectator’s memory.
One year later another huge milestone was reached in Madrid. A second world indoor record in C.D.M. Gallur, at a new World Indoor Tour final in Spain’s capital. Nonetheless Grant Holloway —who clocked 7.29 in the 60m hurdles— looked at the stands and only could celebrate (from distance) with athletes and journalists. Public wasn’t allowed to attend the meeting due to Covid-19.
Who will be the brightest star at Madrid 22? Who will break the third world record in a row? Whoever it will, this year the protagonist is you. Because fans will be back in the stands two years later. Tickets are on sale! You only need to wear mask and bring all the desire to enjoy watching your idols.
C.D.M. Gallur will lift its capacity up to 50%, according to the current Spanish government Covid-19 restrictions. More tickets will be on sale if the public authorities allow it.
Madrid 22 timetable has also been released. Competition will start at 7:00 PM (local time) with the men’s triple jump and will come to an end at 9:35 PM with the men’s 60m. World Indoor Tour trophy ceremony will cap off the meeting at 9:40 PM.
